General CSLS Information
- The Center for Student Legal Services opened its doors on February 14, 1997 and was originally called The Center for Student Advocacy.
- The Center for Student Legal Services was started by Student Senate and was originally a service for upperclassmen to deal with landlord/tenant problems. In 2000, CSLS started taking criminal misdemeanor cases.
- Formerly housed above the Pita Pit at 8 North Court Street, CSLS moved to a bigger office at 50 South Court Street Suite D in December 2004.
About Our Attorneys
- Atty. David Baer was the CSLS Managing Attorney from 1997 to 2003. When he went into private practice he was replaced by Patrick McGee who was the CSLS Staff Attorney from 2000 to 2003. Click here for Patrick`s bio.
- The current Staff Attorneys are Melissa Luna and Kristine Hayes, who specialize in landlord/tenant and consumer cases. Melissa joined CSLS in August of 2005. Click here for her bio. Kristine joined CSLS in August of 2008. Click here for her bio.
